TAN TAX INFORMATION

.

As of July 1st, 2010, the federal government is adding a 10% tax on the cost of indoor tanning services that involve UV light. This tax was included as part of the health care reform bill that was recently signed into law (read the section regarding the Tan Tax here).

Hawaiian Sun Tanning Co. and The Indoor Tanning Association strongly opposed this tax. Lawmakers added it to the final bill with no input from the industry regarding its impact and failed to give the industry opportunity for amendment.

It is our understanding that the IRS will issue regulations on implementation of the tax prior to July 1st, 2010, and we will make that information available to our customers as soon as it is received. We regret that we are required to collect this tax from you.  We encourage you to contact your elected officials with any comments and to visit
